Uploading a document
Drag-and-drop any common file type into Plox — your document is encrypted, indexed for analytics, and ready to share in seconds.
Plox Tip
PDF gives you the cleanest reader experience and the most accurate analytics. If you have the choice between PDF and PPTX, export to PDF first.
Before you begin#
- A free Plox account at app.plox.in.
- A file in a supported format (see below).
Supported file types#
- Documents: PDF, DOCX
- Presentations: PPTX, KEY
- Spreadsheets: XLSX, CSV
- Images: JPG, PNG, GIF, WEBP
- Video: MP4, MOV
If your file is a different format, convert it to PDF first — Plox renders PDFs natively and gives you the most reliable analytics on them.
How to upload#
- Open the Documents tab from the left sidebar.
- Click Upload Document.
- Drag-and-drop your file into the dropzone, or click to browse from your device.
- Wait for the progress bar to complete — typically under 30 seconds even for 100 MB files.
The moment the upload finishes, the file is encrypted at rest, indexed for analytics, and visible in your Documents list.
Upload limits#
Limits scale with your plan:
| Plan | Per-file limit |
|---|---|
| Free | 50 MB |
| Plus | 250 MB |
| Pro | 500 MB |
| Max | Unlimited |
See Upload limits for the latest figures.
Replacing a file#
Want to update the document after sharing the link? Click the three dots (•••) → Replace File and upload the new version. The same share link automatically serves the new file — viewers always see the latest revision on next open.
What's next#
After uploading, you'll typically want to:
- Set access controls — Require email, passcode, allowlist, or all three.
- Share the document — copy the link, send it anywhere.
- Track engagement — watch who opens it and when.
What to read next#
- Sharing a document
- Upload limits
- Confidential Documents — the all-protections preset.
