How to use Plox
A guided tour of every section in the Plox dashboard — from account setup to advanced analytics.
Plox Tip
If you want the shortest possible path to a tracked share, jump to the Quickstart. This page is the deeper guided tour of every dashboard section.
This guide walks you through Plox section by section, in the order they appear in your sidebar. By the end you'll know where every feature lives and which doc to read next.
1. Create your account#
- Sign up at app.plox.in with an email or SSO.
- Pick a plan: Free, Plus, Pro, or Max — see Pricing for what's included. You can upgrade or downgrade anytime.
- Confirm your email and you're in. No onboarding wizard; the dashboard is the onboarding.
2. Tour the dashboard#
The left sidebar has five main sections:
- Documents — every file you've uploaded. Where you set access controls and copy share links.
- Data Rooms — multi-file collections with a branded landing page. See What is a data room.
- Analytics — viewer-level engagement data across documents and rooms.
- Branding — your logo, colors, and custom domain. See What is branding.
- Settings — workspace members, billing, and integrations.
3. Upload your first document#
In Documents, click Upload Document and drag-and-drop. The file is encrypted on upload, ready to share the moment the progress bar completes. See Uploading a document for supported formats and best practices.
4. Lock it down#
Click the three dots (•••) on any document → Access Controls. Mix and match:
- Require email to view
- Email verification via OTP
- Require passcode
- Allow specific emails
- Disable download
Need every protection at once? Use the Confidential Documents preset.
5. Share it#
Click Copy Link on the document row. Paste anywhere — email, Slack, calendar invite, LinkedIn. See Sharing a document for advanced sharing patterns.
6. Track what happens#
The moment someone opens the link, the Analytics tab updates. Read time per page, completion percentage, IP and location, revisit history. See Tracking your document for how to act on these signals.
7. Brand the experience#
Under Branding, add your logo, brand colors, and (on Pro+) a custom domain. Now your share links look like docs.yourcompany.com instead of plox.in/share/....
8. Level up to a Data Room#
When you're sharing more than one file with the same audience, build a Data Room. See How to create a data room.
