How to Deactivate Facebook
Deactivating your Facebook account is temporary. Your profile is hidden, but you can reactivate it anytime.
Steps:
Go to Settings & Privacy > Settings
Click Accounts Center > Personal Details > Account Ownership and Control
Select Deactivation or Deletion
Choose Deactivate Account
Follow the prompts and confirm
How to Delete a Facebook Account Permanently
Deleting your Facebook account means saying goodbye to your profile, posts, and Messenger access.
Steps:
Go to Settings & Privacy > Settings
Open Account Ownership and Control in the Accounts Center
Choose Deactivation or Deletion
Select Delete Account
Confirm and enter your password
Note: Facebook delays deletion for 30 days. Log in before that to cancel.
How to Deactivate Instagram
Deactivating your Instagram account hides your profile and content until you log in again.
Steps (only on desktop browser):
Go to instagram.com and log in
Click your profile > Edit Profile
Scroll to the bottom and click Temporarily deactivate my account
Select a reason and enter your password
Click Temporarily Deactivate Account
